Inamori professor Sundaram directs program for Glass Problems Conference
S.K. Sundaram, Inamori Professor of Materials Science and Engineering, served as program director for the 85th Glass Problems Conference (GPC) and Symposium, 14th Advances in Fusion and Processing of Glass (AFPG).
The conference, held in Toledo, OH, Sept. 16-19, was sponsored by the Glass Manufacturing Industry Council (GMIC). It covered various topics of interest to glass industries, such as melting, refractory, decarbonization, and machine learning. In addition, the conference offered multiple short courses, daytime exhibitors, and evening hospitality hosts to support networking among glass community members.
More than 500 attended the event. Several students, including three from Inamori School of Engineering at Alfred University, were granted travel stipends to attend the conference, learn, and interact with industry experts.
